The only one I read of these is The Good Earth. I read it almost 20 years ago, but still remember the impression it made on me.

Ah, I didn't realise Blogger didn't send an email notification when someone comments. I didn't see this until nearly four months later! Goodness. I don't know if it'll send notification to you that *I* added a comment! I always forget to check that box when I post.

I'm excited to get to The Good Earth. Attiya was the English teacher for my SAT course and she picked me to be a tutor for her after-school mentor/tutor program. It was an honour working for her and the integrity she has for work and life is almost overwhelming sometimes (in the best way). Any book she suggests I eagerly wait to read!
